Autumn Burke Biography
In November 2014, Autumn Burke was elected to represent the 62nd District in the California State Assembly. The district is comprised of Inglewood, Gardena, Hawthorne, Venice, Lawndale, Lennox, El Segundo, Del Aire, Marina del Rey, West Athens, Westmont and portions of Los Angeles.
Assemblymember Autumn Burke is an entrepreneur and small business owner with roots in business and government. She owns a professional consulting firm that offers business development as well as community outreach.
Throughout her career, Burke has maintained her passion for serving the community. She is a committee member for Count Me In for Women, an organization that promotes the growth of women-owned businesses. She is also a board member of the Yvonne Burke foundation, which provides scholarships for young people in Los Angeles County to attend institutes of higher education as well as career training programs. A longtime supporter of the Compton Jr. Posse, Autumn is involved with providing at-risk youth with alternatives to street life and creating a greater sense of belonging.
Burke is the daughter of former Los Angeles County Supervisor, Assemblywoman and U.S. Congresswoman, Yvonne Burke. This is the first time in the history of California that a mother and daughter both served in the State Assembly.
